Take action! Here’s how

29 Sep

TransCanada has been getting nervous and really laying on the propaganda (the radio and TV ads, etc), which I take as a good sign. If they didn’t see our efforts as a threat, they wouldn’t care.

With that said, that means we must all keep taking action and push back. Luckily, you all have plenty of options and opportunities.

First, check out our Take Action and Updates sections for ways to help and events on the horizon.

The newest opportunity is especially for those who are on the path of the Keystone XL or somehow deal with TransCanada. Several groups (GOTGL included) are launching a toll-free tip line where landowners, ranchers, farmers, other citizens and TransCanada employees can confidentially report any and all questionable or unethical acts.  The toll free tip line, 1-866-363-4648, is up and running  (Sept. 29th). There will also be radio ads, starting September 30th,  and a website/blog: www.TransCanadaAbuse.com.

Spread the word and call in if you’ve had any problems with TransCanada.

Also, here are some other upcoming opportunities, courtesy of BOLD Nebraska:

Wed, Sept. 29, 1-1:30pm
Press conference to launch new radio ads and hotline to report TransCanada bullying tactics and safety concerns.
Bold Nebraska office, 1141 H Street, 3rd Floor, Lincoln

Thurs, Sept. 30, noon-1pm
Vice President Joe Biden is in town, so we will wave signs to welcome him and remind him that we do not want the pipeline in our state.
Corner of 36th and Woolworth Ave., Omaha

Thurs, Sept. 30, 5-7pm
Guardians of the Good Life is hosting their regular “honk and wave” with signs to encourage more Nebraskans to oppose pipeline.  Come wave a sign!
Corner of 11th and Howard, Omaha

Thurs, Oct. 14, noon-2pm
Lee Terry and Tom White will hold a debate at the Omaha Press Club.   Audience cannot ask questions.
1620 Dodge St., Omaha

Tues, Oct. 19, 6:30-7:30pm
Lee Terry and Tom White will hold a debate and the audience CAN ask questions.
Bellevue University, 1000 Galvin Road South, Bellevue

Fri, Oct. 22, 12:30-2:30pm
Incumbent Adrian Smith will face Democratic challenger Rebekah Smith and Independent Dan Hill.  We will be outside with signs starting at 12:30pm, debate starts at 1pm.  Broken Bow Country Club, Broken Bow

If you can’t make any of these debates, the Omaha World Herald is taking questions via email jim.johnsons@owh.com for an upcoming debate on Oct. 12th between White and Terry.

Thank-you to you all for your continued work! Keep it up!
